Reception theory

1.The preferred reading means when the producers intend to communicate with the audience to see if the message of a film or movie and don't argue with it what so ever. For example the preferred reading of the film Harry Browne is that young people are evil and violent gangsters. The young people in the film are burning cars, stabbing and shooting people

2.The op-positional reading states when the audiences understand what the movie is trying to say but disagree with the point its trying to make either because of what they think is true or thoughts or values. For example the opposition reading is that only a small amount of young people are criminals and evil as it didnt show all the young people in the world in the film.

3.The trailer makes the audience feel angry as the young people in the trailer are young people doing wrong because young people are already portrayed as evil people already and the movie doesn't help their image and just emphasises how bad some young people are. It gives the audience an excuse to hate the young people.

4.Young people may not like this reading and start to hate how they make them look in a bad light opposition reading of the trailer ,because none of young people in the world is like the young people and even if there is one, a person might stereotype and think all young people are like the ones in the Harry Browne trailer and it is not fair on the young people who aren't anything like the ones in the Harry Browne trailer so they would create an op-positional reading.

5.

MacDonald uses preferred reading for this poster by making the burger nice and full by making the bun nice and big and letting the big mac sauce slowly drip out to make you want to devour it. It also uses a good image of it as using an image of it sideways so it shows all the layers and tries to show how much your going to spend on it would be a good price. negoteated readed is shown as it shows how fat you can get if you keep on munching on the burger as it is really big but people would buy it as it looks really tasty. Oppositional reading is shown as it could not be worth it as the burger would not look the same as it would look in real life and look worse.
