Some good understanding of how woman were represented in the 3 CSPs

LR

-attempt all questions and work on things that get marked.
-revise representations in the following areas
woman =  omo galaxy/nhs
ethnicity = NHS
class = NHS

2)
Q1:1
Q2:1
Q3:2
Q4:2
Q5:not completed
Q6:5

3) Write down five magazine cover conventions. Look back at the original notes if you need help.
Central image

Colour scheme
Language
Title of publication
Slogan

4
tatler

 The use of Serif font for the title gives the word ‘Tatler’ a more regal,
formal and sophisticated appearance which reinforces the magazine’s
brand identity as upper class and associated with style and elegance

The setting is blurred which makes it look exotic and uses an outdoor

location juxtaposed with the glamorous outfit of the model.

Reveal

 Use of paparazzi shots rather than posed shots which make the reader
feel as if they are seeing a different side to celebrities and this reinforces
the dramatic coverlines.

Words like ‘Exclusive’ allow the reader to feel special and privileged.

5) Look at the mark scheme for Question 5 on the NHS Represent advert. Write down three of the people in the NHS Represent advert (include both their name and what they are famous for) and why they subvert the stereotype for gender or race/ethnicity.

Lady Lesurr is an English rapper, singer, and producer. She is best known for her Queen's Speech series .She subvert the stereotype that girls cant be rappers as she is the main person in the NHS advert.

Ade Adipitan was born in Lagos Nigeria. At the age of fifteen months he contracted Poliomyelitis. The effects of the virus meant that he was unable to use his left leg, and only had partial use of his right leg. He subverts the stereotype that disabled people are weak as he won a bronze medal at the Paralympics

Nicola Adams is a British boxer. The first woman to win an Olympic boxing title, she is the 2012 and 2016 Olympic gold medallist in the women's flyweight division.

6) For Question 6, read the exemplar answer in the mark scheme. Re-write your own answer to Question 6 making sure you include all three advertising CSPs: OMO advert, Galaxy advert, NHS Represent blood campaign.
