statement of intent

Introduction-For my media coursework, I am aiming to make a Sci-fi TV production called The Unwanted Return. The two minute sequence that I will produce will be taken from season 1 episode 3. It is based in a school setting and it is about an alien who is called QZ6 (who is a young black teenager) hiding on Earth trying to blend in as an ordinary student. He has taken the form of a school boy wearing typical school uniform. He has gone rogue from his clan and trying not to get caught by the head of security LM1 (an Eastern-European teenager).It starts straight off with disequilibrium with

The narrative is that QZ6 who will be in a school class where he gets a phone call which shocks him as he has never received a phone call before as he has no family or friends on earth. This will be caught with a close up as it adds a sense of emotion due to his shock. He leaves the lesson and walks to the end of the corridor where he answers the call. One example of a prop that will be used will be his phone. He answers the phone and he is told in a deep and croaky voice which he finds out it is the head of security back at the motherland that is called LM1. He will be portraying the antagonist of the extract. Then he will boot the door open which will create a bang which will make a loud sound which could be caught with an over the shoulder shot. The shot of LM1 kicking the door will be a wide shot showing the whole frame which will catch the movement of the door with LM1 and QZ6 both in the frame. It is acknowledging that LM1 is making a big impact. This will make the audience fear LM1 automatically as he has entered the story clearly making fell scared and has a masculine feel about him. This is happening some non-diegetic music will be added into this part which will make the audience feel that it is an intense part of the story for the protagonist. After this QZ6 will start to run away from LM1 after some quick feet that tripped him up running away with intense music blaring in the background

I plan to meet the brief of a sc-fi production by aiming it for a family audience. This clip meets the family audience genre as it is aimed for the young audience and for adults. The show gives the audience pleasure by the genre of Sci-Fi. It shows them diversion from the real world by showing the aliens which is unearthly. The show may be like by my audience as it is similar to doctor who and Stranger. This is shown when the character LM1 teleport ahead of QZ6 using his superpowers and catches him which is unnatural as teleportation is from sci-fi.
